Statement of PurposeFounded in January 2008, Guildwood Business Networking Group (GBNG) is an informal non-profit networking and referral organization that promotes and supports members who are business owners conducting business in the Guildwood area.
MissionOur mission is to get to know each other in order to provide and receive referrals, leads, and resources among our members, and to connect our services, products, knowledge, and experience with potential new customers.
MandateOur mandate is to… Increase and strengthen the business successes of our members. Serve our clients’ best interests with skill and integrity. Encourage professional relationship development in the Guildwood community. Note: Executives are elected or acclaimed for a one-year term.
MeetingsGBNG meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (except July and August). When one of the regular meeting days is a holiday, GBNG will meet the day after the holiday or the following Monday instead. See Events - Calendar for current meeting dates.
MembershipGBNG members are business owners who operate their businesses in the Guildwood area and are committed to this group’s mission and mandate. GBNG was founded on respect for others, congeniality, cooperation, teamwork, collaboration and willingness to actively contribute to the group. This is the tone members intend to cultivate in GBNG. In addition to other factors (professionalism, business qualifications, etc), new members will be accepted based on having these qualities.
New Member RecruitmentGBNG wants new members who can commit to attending meetings on a regular basis and to take an active role in the group’s activities. Current members are encouraged to invite potential new members who meet the above criteria to attend a regular GBNG meeting.
Business Profile PresentationsMost meetings, one GBNG member does a 15-minute self-marketing presentation to educate the group about who you are and what you need. Case study format will demonstrate to the group how you work and increase understanding of what you do. Make sure you clearly define your target market and ask the group – “Who do you know who could benefit from my services?”
